1. Where Are My Icons?

This computer prank is an old-school one and works every time. What is the prank? Whenever the user tries to interact with the Desktop Icons, they will not respond to the double-click. How to do that: This is it. Watch the expression on your friend’s face when s/he tries to click on the icons (which is an image now). 

2. The Damn Shutdown

Warning: I must warn you first, that this one is wild, use it at your own risk.  What is the computer trick? Your friend’s laptop will restart automatically every minute. How to do that: You need to do this in 2 steps. First, make a code to shut down the computer, and then we have to execute it each time the computer boots. Step 2 Copy the following code into Notepad and save it as Prank.bat. The shutdown is a command, ‘r’ signifies restart, 60 is the time in seconds – you can set any number in seconds. Step 2 In the second step, we have to move prank.bat folder to the startup folder. To find the startup folder go to Start > Programs > Startup. Now, cut and paste prank.bat in the startup folder.

3. Virus Detected

When your friend clicks on Google Chrome icon on the desktop, a black screen will pop up warning him of virus detection and hard disk needs to be formatted to restore Windows. Don’t worry, it’s completely safe to use. How to do that: You have to make a batch file with the given commands and then make your friend click the file. Of course, you’ll need to disguise the batch file with a Google Chrome icon.

  1. Copy the following code to Notepad and save it as a prank.bat file.
  2. Search for the Google Chrome icon in Google and save the image that looks like the Chrome icon to your desktop.
  3. To change the format from .jpg to .ico, we can use an online .ico image converter like icoconverter.  Download the Google Chrome icon
  4. Save the .ico file to the desktop. Change the icon image of prank.bat to this Google icon that we have downloaded, to do this, right-click the Folder > Properties > Customize. But you won’t see the Customize tab in the properties. So you will have to create a shortcut and then change its icon to Google Chrome.

4. Your Computer is Hacked

Copy the following code to a Notepad document on your computer: Save it as chrome.vbs on the desktop, and disguise it with some icon.

5. Some Usual Tricks to Use in Office

This computer trick works best in places where there are many computers placed next to each other. How to do that:

  1. Interchange the keyboard/mouse cable of two computers.
  2. For old computers with PS/2 cable connected to computer, you can put the keyboard cable to mouse port and vice versa. After that, every time the computer boots, it will show an error message of the device not found.
  3. Stick a tape to the bottom sensor of the mouse and that will prevent the mouse from detecting a surface.
  4. Edit the mouse setting. By default, right-click is the primary click used mainly for selection. And, if you make the right click his left click and vice versa, this will drive your friend nuts.
